50” three Strand Lei Kahelelani poepoe pa lua Kipona and momi
This 50-inch Lei Kahelelani poepoe pa lua and momi kipona. It is a scarce find with rare colors of the momi shells ranging from the uliuli (blue), Onikinoki (spotted), and Kahakaha (brown striped momi) interchanging with the different colored Kahelelani red, white, pink, and brown. Jake Kaohelaulii also created this lei on the island of Niihau. All shells are gathered on the shores of Niihau and collected over six months. The total hours of work put into this lei are approximately 2400 hours. Total time to complete this lei is a year. A wonderful addition to the amazing jewelry collection!
